This album is brought to you by the letter Z. Sleep and other restful actions can accompany these sounds. Everything was created alone during lockdown in my dwelling place or within a short walk of it.
If sleep is a challenge, release all need to get it right. Place attention on any one sound and breathe in slowly, through the nose if possible. Breathe out any thoughts that might arise as "just thoughts." There is no separation between you and what you hear. The sound is you.
ABOUT THE MAKING OF LULL
I wanted to make an album to help people relax in a stressful time. I am interested in the willful use of attention. As such you hear a lot of this album that is the smallest detail of the apartment I dwell in. I sampled the heater, fridge, dishwasher and other everyday sounds inside the house. There's the sounds of our driveway, of the forest of Saxe Point Park, of piano, duduk, some synthetic sounds, even the sound of pistachio shells in a dish. Whatever was immediately at hand that provided peace and tranquility.
If sleep is a challenge, release all need to get it right. Place attention on any one sound and breathe in slowly, through the nose if possible. Breathe out any thoughts that might arise as "just thoughts." There is no separation between you and what you hear. The sound is you.
