about

stepworks is a compilation of 4 major works I composed in 2022.

The first three tracks are original music scored for choreographer Justin Rapaport, winner of the Danish Dance Theater Award at the Copenhagen International Choreographic Competition 2021. Our collaboration began in March 2022 with "Make Way" as part of an initiative between Ballet BC, Dance Victoria, and the UVic Faculty of Fine Arts.

Injoy premieres in January 26, 2023 in Los Angeles, CA.

Around, As You Turn premieres December 28-31, 2022 in Miami, FL.

Make Way premiered March 12, 2022 in Victoria BC, Canada.

Nowhere But Now Here is unrelated dance. It is part of my work as Artist-In-Residence at the Centre For Studies In Religion and Society at the University of Victoria.

Nowhere To Now Here premiered April 4, 2022 in Victoria BC, Canada.

Thank you to choreographer and dancer Justin Rapaport for being the catalyst and the crucible for this project. They say talking about music is like dancing about architecture. Maybe that's why Justin can speak, project, and feel so much about music. Thanks for trusting me with the sound for the worlds we co-created.

Thanks to the University of Victoria Faculty of Fine Arts, Dance Victoria and Ballet BC for the spirit and drive to make the connection between Justin and I possible. This is just the beginning.

Thanks to the Centre for Studies in Religion and Society, also at UVic, for receiving me so warmly as Artist-in-Residence in 2021-22. Spending time with everyone at the Centre has been the highlight of my career to date at UVic. I learned more about improvisation in our regular chats. I don't think I've ever felt more at home on campus then at CSRS: the heartbeat of true-interdisciplinarity (is that even a word? Let's make it a word).
